The Horse Farm - Epilogue and Prologue

I would like to extend a warm if belated "Thank You!" to everyone who read 'The Horse Farm' as I was writing it in the summer of 2013, and to all who have read it since.

The story began on a whim. I wrote the first two paragraphs to get a chuckle out of my friends. Instead of laughing, those friends urged me to write more. Two paragraphs expanded into a chapter, that chapter led to a second, and the second led to three more.

After those first few chapters, I felt as though I knew these characters as though they were real acquaintances. I was compelled to tell their story.

They went through a lot over the course of twenty-two chapters. They experienced belly laughs and tears of despair. They met new friends and lamented failed attempts at romance. They crafted elaborate pranks and found themselves caught up in risky gambits. They experienced joy, shame, shock, betrayal, lust, excitement, love, jealousy, anger, forgiveness, and redemption. And we were right there with them.

After all of the drama, all of the antics and adventures, all of the painful truths and the emotional turmoil, The Horse Farm is a story about friendship, the enduring and steadfast relationships that celebrate our triumphs, soothe our failures, and direct the course of many of our most important decisions. Friendship endures because it's as strong as love - perhaps even stronger - despite the lack of comparable physical benefits.

And like all great friendships, this one continues. Are you ready for some new adventures?
